Responsible AI Policy
Last Updated: 01-05-2025
At loadmaster.ai, we are committed to the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies. This Responsible AI Policy outlines our approach to ensuring that our AI-driven optimization software for container terminals is used safely, ethically, and in compliance with applicable laws. As AI continues to evolve, so will our policies and practices. We encourage you to stay informed and reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
AI at loadmaster.ai
loadmaster.ai develops advanced reinforcement learning (RL) software to optimize operations in container terminals. Our products—StowAI, StackAI, and JobAI—are deployed directly on customer infrastructure and operate within secured on-premise environments.
These tools are designed to support terminal planners, strategists, and dispatchers by:
- StowAI: Optimizing vessel stowage planning.
- StackAI: Improving yard strategy and container placement.
- JobAI: Enhancing job dispatching and resource allocation.
By simulating millions of operational scenarios, our RL systems learn strategies that go beyond historical averages, enabling terminals to achieve higher throughput, efficiency, and resilience.
Our Approach to AI Development
Ethical Development and Use: loadmaster.ai is dedicated to ensuring that our reinforcement learning systems are developed and used in ways that uphold ethical and safety standards. We focus on transparency, accountability, and minimizing unintended bias in AI-driven decisions.
Operational Safety: Because our products influence real-world logistics decisions, safety and stability are central to our design. Recommendations are structured to support—not replace—human decision-making. Customers are encouraged to validate and oversee AI-generated plans before execution.
Data Usage and Privacy: loadmaster.ai software operates within the customer’s network and does not transmit operational or commercial data to external systems. Simulation-based training reduces dependence on sensitive historical data while preserving data privacy.
Compliance with AI Regulations: loadmaster.ai is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including the EU AI Act, GDPR (where applicable), and international safety standards relevant to logistics and automation.
Shared Responsibility Model for AI
We believe that the safe and responsible use of AI in container terminals requires collaboration between loadmaster.ai as the developer and the customer as the operator.
Your Role as a Customer
As a customer of loadmaster.ai products, you are responsible for:
- Using AI Responsibly: Ensuring AI outputs are applied in compliance with maritime, labor, and safety regulations.
- Operational Oversight: Reviewing and validating AI-generated recommendations before execution in terminal operations.
- Protecting Privacy: Safeguarding operational and employee data processed within your environment.
- Educating Your Team: Training staff to understand AI-driven recommendations and to maintain human accountability in decision-making.
loadmaster.ai's Role
loadmaster.ai is responsible for:
- Developing Safe AI Products: Embedding safety, stability, and fairness into reinforcement learning models.
- Providing Transparency: Explaining how RL models are trained, what assumptions are made, and how recommendations are generated.
- Continuous Improvement: Updating algorithms and simulation environments to reduce biases, improve efficiency, and adapt to evolving terminal needs.
- Compliance Support: Ensuring our products meet applicable AI and data protection regulations.
Transparency and Accountability
loadmaster.ai is committed to transparency in how our RL models are developed and used. We provide clear documentation about the limits of AI outputs and maintain mechanisms for customers to raise concerns, request clarifications, or provide feedback on model behavior.
Continuous Learning and Adaptation
AI is a rapidly evolving field, and loadmaster.ai is dedicated to staying at the forefront of responsible AI development. We continually improve our reinforcement learning technologies, policies, and practices to ensure they meet the highest standards of operational safety, ethics, and compliance.
We also encourage customers to stay informed about AI developments and to engage with us in our shared responsibility model for safer, smarter, and more efficient terminal operations.
